Painting is what captures my full attention now that my time is my own, and I’m grateful to be living surrounded by nature which gives me wonderful, ever changing subjects to paint.
I was born in Montreal and grew up in Quebec City. Married with grown daughters and took my first art lesson back in 1981 and fell in love with the colourful, world of watercolour.
I have studied with many well recognized painters through the years and my approach to art focuses on composition, light and how each affects form and texture. I use transparent watercolours on Arche paper and also Aquaboard panel which allow watercolours to be framed without glass.
My work has been accepted into juried shows in Quebec and Nova Scotia, and my work is in the art collections of the cities of Pierrefonds, Dorval, Halifax as well as private collection across Canada.
I paint with Crossroad Artists here in the Bay and exhibit in our annual show and sale each fall. I also participate in Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of Art’s Studio Tour each July. My home studio is open by appointment.
